| Bio: | I am a Father. I am a dormant Artist. I am a conscientious Entrepreneur. I will be free. I have a strong will. I am an Ex-smoker. I am an oak. I am frequently unconventional. I wish to make cinema. I wish to entertain. I wish to make games. I like games. I am a web developer by trade, a graphic artist, Ha, an artist without a vision. I am a creative mercenary. I am a entrepreneur whom is turning his love of games and people into a vision and reality. (I own a game shop.) I create for those who I do and do not know, for their enjoyment and pleasure, comfort and joy. I like to wax philosophy. I am a whore. I am loyal. I am a villager. I change and grow in each moment. I do not wish to be the walking contradiction, as such, my wants contradict me. What I am is not what I am. My fantasy in life is to live in a giant collective with my friends and family and create art of substantive value the whole day long, to live with those I love and to create. To be content with each moment as it passes. To create beauty in this world - for what other reason is there to create? Before you part I wish you to know - that you are very special to me, really, you are. I love you - even if you think I do not, cannot, or should not. Love & Peace -------------------------------------------- On Media ------------------------------------------- On film: I enjoy cinema greatly but the frequency at which I can find films I am interested in watching has waned over the last 2 years (I have seen close to 600 films in the last 2 years (2005/2006) I generally enjoy well written science fiction, smart comedy, and drama that does more good than harm (Depressing without positive growth potential is a no-no). I do not tend to accept well movies that push heavy moral judgments but greatly appreciate those that objectively examine the human condition and allow the viewer to grow and chose their own ultimate judgment. I also enjoy action movies with engaging plots and wicked interesting protagonists. I greatly dislike gore, and usually horror – I do enjoy suspense often however and sometimes those cross over. I have little tolerance for the waste of human life on screen or on page. I do not watch many films or ingest much media that actively dulls my value of human life. For some time I had to reject and push away all violent film until I could clearly identify with greater accuracy authors and filmmakers who placed less value on human life. Death is part of life and so it must be portrayed; how it is done, how you react, and what you enjoy says a lot about who you are as a person. On television: I watch a number of shows on television, something that surprised me more than it will you. I had a fairly negative attitude regarding television for quite some time; television has become good in the last few years quite unexpectedly or I just started looking in the right places. Series I watch and follow: Lost Heroes Battlestar Galactica Weeds Doctor Who My Name is Earl The Riches Series I casually watch: Family Guy Futurama Completed Series: Firefly (one of the reasons I started watching TV on DVD) Alias Veronica Mars I am also an anime fan, but sadly much anime is complete and total garbage – there are gems however and worth hunting for. Much of the draw (no pun intended) of anime is the artistry and craft required to create it from nothing but ideas and talent. On literature: I do not read books that I cannot love, written word is perhaps the most intimate of all media that I ingest, because I so actively participate in the creation of the scene or idea. I view books of fiction as a projector and the inside of my brain as the screen on which they play. For that reason I am particularly selective of the books I will read and I will put down books that do not keep me interested for there are those that will and I would rather spend my time reading those. This leaves me loving mostly everything I've read cover to cover. I am always interested in finding new authors I haven't read before but only introduce me to the ones you love! On music: By the late 90's the music industry had sucked much of my interest away with it's high prices and later hostile business practices. Much of the music I listened to was rather negative too when I come to think about it and that had a bad impact on me and had to stop. I feel almost suckered and preyed upon by certain artists, to allow their thoughts to influence me too greatly. Just because something feels good doesn't mean it is good. I have been slowly healing from this and seeking music of which I can entirely love and can love me right back. Of all the media I consume this is one I do not discuss with great frequency but that could, perhaps, change in the future. | |
